John Deere is widening it’s portfolio of over 100 Worksite Pro attachments with three new plate compactors, providing even more dependable choices for JD’s many brand-loyal customers. The PC4, PC7, and PC10 models are designed for trench, slope, and excavation compaction applications, and promise to deliver productivity alongside powerful performance. The attachments are compatible with the John Deere 26G, 30G, 35, 50G, 60G compact excavators, the 310L, 310L EP, 310SL, 310SL HL, 315SL and 410L backhoes, and most competitive models as well.

This past March, at the Mid-America Trucking Show, the American Historical Truck Society had the first ever trailer ever produced by Talbert Manufacturing on exhibit. This 80 year old piece of equipment gave attendees a chance to get an up-close and personal look at the trailer that would set in motion a legacy of innovative and reliable heavy-haul solutions from then on out. The VP of sales and marketing, Troy Geisler, even made an appearance to share the history of the trailer, which made it’s humble debut in 1938, as well as the innovations pioneered by founder, Austin Talbert, that would follow for years to come.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and XL, a leader in fleet electrification solutions for commercial and municipal fleets that has worked with many Fortune 500 companies to make the change to electrification, recently announced that PSE has finished outfitting forty new vehicles with hybrid conversion technology. This change will serve to reduce each van’s carbon footprint, support the change from petroleum to XL hybrid gas/electric systems, and reduce CO2 emissions by 1.3 million pounds annually. PSE also showcased one of these new hybrid vans at the Green Transportation Summit and Expo on April 17-19th in order to showcase how easy it is for companies to convert fleet vehicles to cleaner systems, in turn, saving costs.

Felling Trailers, Inc. debuted their new EZ Tilt Technology using the FT-12 EZ-T tilt trailer this past February at the 2018 Rental Show in New Orleans, LA. This EZ Tilt Technology provides a 5-degree load angle by allowing for ground level loading with its rotating torsion suspension, which in turn, allows the trailer to load and unload low clearance equipment with ease, including things like floor sweepers, scissor lifts, and rollers. Hiab, part of Cargotec, just launched their new MOFFETT M5 NX truck mounted forklift as an addition to their already established line. This latest model in a series of next-generation machines will be showcased at the upcoming Commercial Vehicle Show on April 24-26th in Birmingham, UK. There, customers can learn more about the machine’s multiple efficiency enhancements, including it’s impressive power to weight ratio, superior flexibility on small job sites, and improved safety and comfort features.

As an addition to their already full line of purpose-built pipe layers, Cat is introducing their brand new, updated PL61. This model delivers an impressive 40,000 lbs of maximum load capacity and an easy 128 inch transport width. In an effort to retain the trusted familiarity established with their previous models, PL61 will retain similar comfort and easy maintenance features, in addition to experienced Cat dealer network support.

Three of Cat’s articulated trucks have recently undergone major design changes in order to improve upon the performance of their C-Series forerunners, the 730C2, 730C2 EJ, and the 735C. The new 730, 730 EJ (Ejector), and 735 include enhanced field-proven features such as innovative new controls, an advanced traction control system, transmission-protection features, a new stability-assist system, a new hoist-assist system, and a fuel saving ECO operating mode.

Komatsu, a leading global heavy equipment manufacturer, has recently announced their decision to move their North American headquarters to Chicago, IL in 2020. This decision stems from considerations such as the ability to have better access to the O’Hare airport and public transportation options for employees. The open, collaborative workspaces that will be featured in the new HQ, as well as Chicagoland’s diverse talent pool were also leading factors in the decision.

Manitou will be featuring their electric mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) and three industrial forklifts at the upcoming MODEX Show in Atlanta Georgia on April 9-12th. This demonstration will include the AETJ 49 electric-powered model, which has never been shown in a trade show in North America until now. Autostrada Polska will officially be held in Targi Kielce from May 8-10th in 2018. Last year alone brought together 418 companies from twenty countries all over the world to their exhibition site, which took place in an exhibition area of over 30,000 meters and hosted more than 14,000 visitors.

The brand new Cat 24 Motor Grader is a testament to the already strong heritage of the company's M Series Motor Graders, offering high performance construction and maintenance capabilities on mine roads in order to make miner’s jobs easier and more efficient. Volvo has recently upgraded their line-up with their all new D-Series, which consists of MC110D, MC115D, and MC135D skid steer loaders, along with MCT110D, MCT125D, and MCT135D compact track loaders. Revamped and improved, this powerhouse series renders a stronger boom design, greater strength, and higher lifting capacities, up to 11 percent. In addition, improved safety and operator comfort means a cab that offers 30 percent more room and up to 60 percent better visibility, giving this series a fierce leg up against the competition.

Ammann’s introduction of their digital monitoring system, ServiceLink, has been making life easier for operators since the beginning of this year. The technology works as a mobile monitor that provides accurate networked fleet monitoring as well as digital control of key machine data for APR, APH, and ARW series compactors. With this new tool, operators can optimize maintenance and fleet control while monitoring things like battery status, maintenance intervals, and documentation that can be accessed via the Ammann Service App or the Service Portal.

John Deere has recently incorporated SmartGrade technology into their Dubuque, Iowa, manufactured 950K PAT dozer, delivering precise grading performance while eliminating the need for external masts and cables. The overall quality of work is improved through the integration of the Topcon 3D-MC 2 Grade-Control System, which is fully incorporated into the structures, software, and machine cabin. Combining North America’s largest Power-Angle-Tilt (PAT) dozer with SmartGrade technology, both of which did very well on their own, was a logical next step for delivering the most efficiency for operators.
