DLG International and VNU Asia Pacific are postponing AGRITECHNICA ASIA and Horti ASIA, which were scheduled to take place at BITEC, Bangkok, in October 2020. The uncertain travel entry regulations for Thailand have led organizers to the conclusion that it will not be possible to organize AGRITECHNICA ASIA and Horti ASIA in a form that is appropriate for such leading international trade fairs for exhibitors and visitors this year. The new dates for the exhibitions are 27th to 29th May 2021.

While the COVID-19 outbreak continues to hamper global business activities, online sourcing has become the ultimate solution that makes trade transactions possible. Riding on the success of the debut Summer Sourcing Weeks | Go ONLINE, the HKTDC is organising its next online exhibition in November, Autumn Sourcing Week | ONLINE (ASWO).

The Big 5, the international event accelerating growth in the construction industry for the past four decades, is launching the first Big 5 Digital Festival - Global this year.

The event, which will run completely online from 23 to 26 November, will gather the global construction community to build resiliency and empower industry professionals to grow their businesses, learn from the world’s top experts, and be ready for the post Covid-19 world.  

The 30th Annual National Trailer Dealers Association Convention (NTDA) was planned for Nov. 4–6, 2020 at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, CA, located in Riverside County, CA. Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Riverside County, all non-essential public gatherings of any size are prohibited. As such, there is no option for the NTDA to go forward with an in-person Convention in 2020. Likewise, many member companies have issued travel restrictions for their personnel.

Therefore, the NTDA Convention Committee voted to cancel the 2020 Convention and alternatively offer members a Virtual Convention. There will be no cost for 2020 NTDA Convention Sponsors, Exhibitors, or members to log onto the 2020 NTDA Virtual Convention. The online format will go live on Nov. 4, 2020 and will be available to members through September 2021. A link to access the site will be provided to members.

The preparations for bauma CONEXPO INDIA are in full swing: the International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines and Construction Vehicles will take place from November 3 to 6, 2020 in Gurgaon / New Delhi. Around 700 national and international companies will use the 195,000 square meters of exhibition space to present machines, vehicles and equipment for the Indian market, which seems to be slowly recovering.

Interested companies can still register online until April 30, 2020.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), organizer of CONEXPO-CON/AGG and the co-located IFPE Show, affirmed the 2020 Shows are set to take place as planned, March 10-14 in Las Vegas. The association is closely monitoring COVID-19, commonly known as coronavirus, and is taking necessary steps and precautions to ensure a safe and productive CONEXPO-CON/AGG & IFPE Show experience.

With around one year to go before the start of the trade fair, preparations for bauma CHINA are progressing at full speed. The 10th international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles will be held from November 24 to 27, 2020 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. 

The second edition of The Big 5’s Women in Construction (WIC) Forum & Awards will be taking place this November 27th at the Dubai World Trade Centre in order to host the official Certificate Ceremony for companies that have agreed to willingly sign the WEPs. This follows the successful launch of the Middle East’s largest construction event in 2018. Industry leaders, including Brian Johnson, Managing Partner at Godwin Austen Johnson, and Hind Al Owais, Vice President- International Participants at Expo 2020 will be speaking at this event meant to focus on diversity, inclusion, gender balance, and women in leadership.

The 14^th edition of Eco Expo Asia will run from October 30th to November 2nd at AsiaWorld-Expo. Attracting some 300 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, this year's fair will embrace the theme of "Less Carbon, Less Waste • Green Innovation", featuring a wide array of the latest environmental technologies and products to create a one-stop marketplace for the growing green industry.

The 13th Annual International Biomass Conference & Expo is taking place this upcoming February 3-5th of 2020 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. This expo is currently the largest assembly of biomass industry stakeholders in the world. Produced by BBI International and Biomass Magazine, the latter is now calling for speaker abstracts.

Eco Expo Asia is returning to Hong Kong from October 30th to November 2nd at AsiaWorld-Expo. This annual tradeshow, which is dedicated primarily to environmental protections, is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., and the event will be co-organized by the Environment Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. Eco Expo Asia is returning, thanks in part, to increased support from the Greater Bay Area initiative.

A brand new event will be debuted at this year’s Thailand-based AGRITECHNICA ASIA trade fair. Announced by the organizers of AGRITECHNICA ASIA, the DLG, (German Agricultural Society,) and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific, The “Argifuture Conference & Exhibition” is part of an intrepid strategy to aid local farmers in the Southeast Asia region with viable farming solutions. Singapore will be hosting an all-in-one tradeshow platform that will cover the entire built environment value chain on September 4th-6th of 2019 in order to meet the precarious and more urgent needs of Asia-Pacific’s built environment industry. Organized by the Building Construction Authority of Singapore, the International Built Environment Week, or IBEW, of 2019 will feature four dynamic tradeshows that have been specifically curated to showcase the industry’s technological mastery. These showcases aim to ultimately accelerate the industry’s metamorphosis into a smart, efficient, and sustainable built environment that can focus on fostering people-first cities.

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is hosting WASTECON 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona, the fifth-largest city in the United States this October 21-24th. The event serves to cultivate the development of a circular economy as well as job creation within the solid waste industry, as well as plan for sustainable futures within communities. With a population of nearly two million people, this hotbed of creativity, also known as the innovation district or the PHX Core, is the perfect place to bring together startups, business incubators, accelerators, entrepreneurs, and universities for a week of learning, networking, and fun. 

This year’s African Construction Expo, taking place June 11-13th, represents a beacon of hope for the South African construction industry. Given the country’s recent recession, which didn’t bode well for the industry as a whole, a new stimulus plan put in place by the South African government might just be construction’s saving grace. This makes this year’s expo all the more important, with opportunities for construction professionals to come together, network, and brainstorm new solutions for a future of growth and expansion.

The Volvo Group is grabbed everyone’s attention at this year’s Bauma 2019 in Munich, Germany, with Volvo CE, Volvo Penta, Volvo Trucks, and Volvo Financial Services all ready to take the stage in a collaborative effort to offer a package of integrated products and services. The dedication of the Volvo Group to helping solve construction’s toughest demands based on shared market-leading knowledge was a perfect fit with the theme of this year’s expo: Building Tomorrow. Volvo CE even unveiled its first compact electric excavator and wheel loader as a step forward in their industry-first pledge to produce electric compact machines by 2020.

John Deere will be displaying their construction equipment at Bauma for the first time this year, April 8-14th. Set to be exhibiting a select fourteen machines, the exhibition will be held at the Wirtgen Group booth. Amongst the equipment will be motor graders intended be sold via the French sales and service company Wirtgen France SAS, as well as Wirtgen Group’s German sales and service companies, which John Deere acquired in December of 2017.
