These consist of the MTA 6642 Easy74, MTA 8044 Easy74 and MTA 10055 Easy74, all of which come with 74-horsepower and the same reliability customers have come to know and love. Each handler also comes with a turbocharged diesel engine and three steering modes.

John Deere recently rolled out updates to their maneuverable 190G wheeled excavator. This powerhouse is idea for work in heavily populated centers due to its flexibility and range of features. The 190G is the “Swiss army knives” of excavators, with the ability to do everything from clearing out ditches and repair sewers and potholes to loading trucks and moving Jersey barriers.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, unveiled their fully electric version of their Kalmar Ottawa T2 Terminal Tractor. Producing zero emissions at the source, this fully electric powertrain is not only economical, but comfortable as well. The new tractor has been designed for trailer-handling in dispersed warehouses, container terminals, and for other jobs where short-term highway travel is unavoidable.

Additionally, the machines now come with four options for remote and manual control systems, giving ultimate customizability and control to the operator in order to meet their exact level of precision during operation.

Nortrax, Inc. has recently made the decision to sell seven of their Midwest Region John Deere dealerships to the family-owned company, the McCoy Group, Inc. in Dubuque, IA. Nortrax will be retaining their other 38 dealerships, but the McCoy group will now run the other seven stores, selling John Deere products as McCoy Construction & Forestry (MCF). Caterpillar has recently announced the launch of their two new Cat forest machine models, the 548 and the 548LL. Both of these new additions to the team are meant to increase profitability for loggers by increasing production, maximizing efficiency, and reducing owning and operating costs. The Cat 548 forestry excavator is configured for forestry tasks ranging from road building and site preparation to processing logs roadside or at a landing, while the Cat 548 LL is configured as a log loader and can perform log handling tasks, such as shovel logging, loading, power clam/butt-n-top applications, and millyard activities.

Volvo Construction Equipment recently unveiled their new LC450H landfill compactor at the WasteExpo this past April. This demonstrates a continuing effort in the company’s commitment to waste disposal and recycling, apparent in their already industry-leading wheel loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and attachments. This landfill compactor is Volvo’s first purpose-built landfill compactor for their market in North America, making it an exciting milestone for the company, as well as the industry.

Muncie Power Products recently introduced their newest power take-off option, the Muncie Start. This new little powerhouse is designed to reduce startup torque for high-inertia loads, which in turn allows for a smooth engagement of the PTO. The Muncie Start is tailored for applications such as compressors, generators, blowers, water pumps, and vacuum pumps.

Caterpillar has recently announced that they are currently in the process of developing brand new EU Stage V-compliant engines across their entire industrial product line. These engines, ranging from the two-cylinder C0.5 to the 12-cylinder and the 32-liter C32, will aim to develop more efficient after-treatment systems, simplify installation in OEM-customer machines, and provide added value for end users of OEM machines. The new engines will not only be fuel-efficient and power-dense, but are also promised to increase productivity and set higher standards for reliability and flexible installation configurations.

This past month, Tigercat released their newest 602 cable skidder prototype, now more compact and narrow than previous models. This prototype skidder was sent to France to be outfitted with a Belgian designed and manufactured swing boom, specifically modified for use in the mountainous regions of Europe. The prototype will be debuted at the Les Cognées in the heart of the French Alps in Les Gets, France on June 24-25th.
