Gehl unveiled their new RT 185 track loader, expanding upon their Pilot Series line. The 1,850-pound capacity machine features a 69.9-hp engine, a hydraulic pilot control joystick, and dealTraxTM automatic track tensioning system and HydraGlide ride control. This model joins the RT165, RT215 and VT320 in the Pilot Series lineup, making it the fourth pilot-controlled track loader model for North America.

Case IH is building on their existing seedbed sensing technology capabilities by adding AFS Soil Command agronomic control technology to their tillage lineup in order to help producers more precisely coordinate control of their tillage equipment from the comfort of the tractor’s cab.The tech is meant to optimize every pass for an agronomic seedbed, using the AFS, or Advanced Farming Systems. Benefitting from this tech will be the Tiger-Mate 255 field cultivator, the Ecolo‑Tiger 875 disk ripper, the single-fold True-Tandem disk harrows, and vertical tillage tools.

Cropan Equipment, a Terex Cranes distributor for Atlantic Canada, is expanding their lineup by offering 35 new models of Terex tower cranes. Already one of the largest distributors of Demag and Terex cranes in Canada, the company is also expanding their territory to include all of Eastern Canada as well. The additions will include models of several varieties, including Terex flat top, hammerhead, and luffing jib tower cranes, all of which can be found currently at any of Cropac’s four locations.

Last week, Gehl introduced four brand new DL Gen:3 telescopic handler models to the North American market. The DL11-44 GEN:3, DL11-55 GEN:3, DL12-40 GEN:3 and DL12-55 GEN:3 models have been improved on by the addition of an all-in-one joystick control for boom extension and retraction, auxiliary hydraulics, attachment tilt, and and forward/neutral/reverse capabilities. This comprehensive joystick gives the operator the ability to leave one hand on the steering wheel while still controlling all machine functions with the other.

XL, announced that they have achieved their 14th California Air Resources Board (CARB) executive order, allowing them to begin selling hybrid electric Ford F-250 pickup trucks in California. This is the highest number of CARB executive orders for commercial electrification in the entire automotive industry. XL is proving to to be a valuable asset for providing economic and environmental advantage for fleets across North America with their hybrid-equipped Ford F-250, which improves fuel economy by an average of 25%, while reducing CO2 emissions by 20%.

Volvo Construction Equipment’s mid-size loader H-Series 2.0 updates are, excitingly enough, now delivering up to 25% greater fuel efficiency. The L60H, L70H and L90H 2.0 also offer improved tipping loads and maintenance-friendly features. A new and optimized loader arm design also increases payload while a larger hydraulic oil cooler improves the cooling capacity and lowers the hydraulic oil temperature.

Kubota Tractor Corporation is teaming up with Tavant Technologies, a leading provider of aftermarket solutions, in order to invest in their procedure for processing warranty claims in the most efficient manner possible. As a benefit to dealers nationwide, the Tavant Warranty On-Demand (TWOD) platform will go into effect in early 2019. The platform, which will be Kubota’s sole application for dealing with warranty claims and related aftermarket business processes, will help to enhance service quality and operational coherence when processing and tracking claims.

Last week, Komatsu America previewed their new XT-5 Series of Track Feller Bunchers. Komatsu has taken on this new series as a challenge, with a completely new design, more power, increased lift, and even the addition of KOMTRAX telematics system technology. Coming in Q4 of 2018, the models will include the XT430-5 (non-leveling), XT435L-5, XT445L-5 and XT465L-5, which replace the prior XT-3 Series machines.
