Not only does the D8T provide better fuel efficiency with it’s all-new fully automatic transmission, but it also delivers up to 18 percent more productivity.

Morbark is now offering an operator-friendly iQ-View Auto-Feed controller. These new smart display controllers were designed for 3.0L gas engines, and are now available for the Beever M12R, M12D, and M12RX brush chipper models.

As one of the global leaders in on-road handlings, Hiab, part of Cargotec, has decided to enter an agreement to acquire Effer S.p.A from the CTE Group. Acquiring the Effer loader cranes business speaks to Hiab’s already established ambition to be the global leader in cranes. Hiab obtained the well-known crane manufacturer at 50 million euros.

Case IH is going retro by commemorating the rich legacy of their Axial-Flow combines with a brand new 50 series Axial-Flow combine lineup. Each model is outfitted with a special-edition 150 series combine featuring the memorable white cab top and tire rims reminiscent of the first models in 1977. In fact, each combine is designed with the International Harvester heritage styling, color schemes, and decals, while still living up to the latest in harvest advancements, giving producers more grain in their tanks in addition to all that nostalgia.

The winner of the second annual “Small Machines. Big Impact.” contest has been determined after pouring over the many online and text votes that were received. It was determined that Neil Behnke, a volunteer at the non-profit, Black Forest Together, was chosen by the public as the grand prize winner. As a replacement for their GSH15B Series, Cat’s brand new GSH420/GSH520 orange-peel grapples have been designed specifically with refinements for effectively handling bulk materials. These grapples are ideal for a wide variety of applications, such as handling shredded scrap, like long structural beams and car bodies, handling rocks at construction sites, and dealing with waste at recycling and transfer stations. Caterpillar has designed a new series of mobile shears, the S2000 and S3000, especially for hydraulic excavators working in scrap and demolition applications. The shears are manufactured from alloy steel, which is substantially harder than T1 type steel and has both superior yield and tensile-strength properties, allowing for an overall longer lifespan. Additionally, optimum force-to-weight ratios on these models provide quicker cycle times and more cuts per hours that previous models, giving them that edge of efficiency.

Liebherr-France in Colmar is continuing their compact product line with their recent series production of the new R926 Compact crawler excavator. Not only does this model have higher levels of production than previous models, but it also comes with a Stage IV / Tier 4f emission standards compliant engine without a DPF or EGR valve. The R926, a new player in the 15 to 35 tonne weight range, is versatile in urban areas or on narrow construction sites.

The Swedish Cranab Group will be participating in this year’s International Interforst Fair hosted every four years in Munich, Germany. Kenworth announced that their T680 on-highway flagship truck will now come standard with both Bendix ADB22X front and rear air disc brakes. While the Bendix ADB22X front air disc brakes have been standard for the past several years, the addition of the rear air disc brakes as standard is thanks to Kenworth now offering rear air disc brakes as standard in general.

Case IH has unveiled their most recent addition to their 2000 Early Riser planter series, the 2130 stack-fold mounted 3-point hitch model, which is available in five configurations and includes 12-row 30-, 36-, 38- or 40-inch row spacing configurations and 16-row 30-inch row spacing configurations. This model has been rebuilt from the ground up with features like a rugged row unit, Precision Planting technology, and convenient bulk-fill and fertilizer system options that provide accurate, high-speed planting. As an effort to help customers realize maximum fuel efficiency, Mack Trucks recently announced they will be offering the Mack MP 8HE and HE+ packages for Mack Anthem models. These models, when outfitted with the aforementioned packages, will deliver up to a 9.5 percent improvement in fuel efficiency. The packages also help models to achieve the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay designation.

JCB debuted the two new additions to their compact excavator series, the 19C-1 and the 18Z-1. The 19C-1, the largest of the two machines, is a 4,211 lb (1.9 ton) conventional tailswing model. The smaller 18Z-1 is a 3,856 lb (1.8 ton) machine, and the first zero tailswing model in the 1-2 ton excavator class. Both models were designed specifically with construction and landscaping capabilities in mind, and will be available to renters in the US and Canada.
