XL Hybrids has announced that the first-ever hybrid-electric Ford F-250 will be unveiled at the 2018 NTEA Work Truck Show March 6-9 in Indianapolis, IN. For trucks using rugged towing, hauling, or utility applications, these new hybrid-electrics enjoy up to 25% increased miles per gallon and reduced CO2 emissions. At booth #3075, you’ll be able to see three electrified Ford pickup trucks, including the XLH hybrid-electric F-250 and the XLP plug-in hybrid-electric F-150, and you’ll also have the opportunity to hear from a panel on vehicle electrification. You’ll even be able to walk underneath the lifted trucks in order to easily see you yourself how easily XL systems integrate with Ford trucks.

Case IH has recently upped their game with new enhancements to their seeding equipment, meant to make the machines more efficient overall. Performance, precision, durability, and convenience are all key attributes that make this goal a reality, as well as the technology advancements that allow for adaptation to different soil conditions. The enhancements secure Case’s air seeding product line as the industry leader in both productivity and agronomics.

In an agreement with PBE Group, Komatsu America announced a few days ago that it is has entered into a purchasing agreement to acquire the assets of the PBE group, which includes Pine Bush Equipment Co. Inc. as well as East PBE Inc. As a leading global manufacturer of heavy equipment, Komatsu’s decision is in support of long-term distributor growth and customer satisfaction. The purchase of the assets if subject to a period of due diligence, and the planned closing date for the deal is on April 1, 2018.

Starting on February 5th of this year, vehicle production with the use of their new Detroit DD8 engines would be underway at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA). The latest addition to their already extensive powertrain portfolio, the overall success of the engine thus far is a testament to the company’s dedication to high quality and variety. Since the announcement, overall market leadership for the engine has increased, as well as Detroit’s leadership for medium-duty and vocational markets.

The all new PC238USLC-11 hydraulic excavator was revealed a few days ago by the leading global heavy equipment manufacturer, Komatsu America Corp. This new excavator promises to deliver four percent higher productivity when compared to the previous model, and comes with an EPA Tier 4 Final certified engine, a new viscous fan clutch, and lower engine parasitic loads. Additionally, a heavy counterweight mass and rounded cab are what give the new excavator better true tight tail swing performance and lift capacity than its predecessor.

Volvo knows that the smallest of changes in design can make a huge difference in machine durability, and they are so confident in the design of their excavators that they are now extending their Lifetime Frame and Structure Warranty to all of their wheeled and high-reach demolition excavators. New models that will be covered by the warranty include the EC380EHR and EC480EHR high-reach demolition excavators, and the EW180E, EW160E and EW60E wheeled models. Additionally, four new wheeled excavators that are being unveiled in Spring of 2018 will also be covered.

Gehl’s new Mark74 telescopic handlers represent a whole new class of superior performance and reliability in the Gehl RS Series. These new handlers have all the same features you love from the GEN:3 RS Series, but they now come with a 74hp engine, which eliminates the need for after treatment fluid. These machines are great for renters who are looking to improve their ROI and  lower their total cost of ownership.

Volvo Construction has taken the H-Series wheel loader and made it better with their newest update, adding the latest technology to an already proven machine. The update includes next-generation OptiShift and new load-sensing hydraulics and transmissions, which in turn provides faster cycle times and increased fuel efficiency. The H-Series 2.0 Update is currently available for the L150H, L180H and L220H, as well as the recently launched L260H, and additional models are soon to follow suit.

Manitou has announced its new lineup of both diesel and electric mobile elevated work platforms (or MEWPs) for its North American market. This squad of platforms features two electric models, the AETJ 49 and the AETJ 43, as well as three diesel models, the ATJ 46, ATJ 46+, and the MAN’GO 33. These models were debuted for the first time at the recent ARA Rental Show in New Orleans earlier this month.

New Holland Agriculture has a new flagship model for it’s Forage Cruiser self-propelled forage harvester lineup - the new FR920. The model is outfitted with a new FPT Industrial V20 engine, which allows for a tremendous 911 horsepower as well as a very efficient 44% torque rise, allowing for increased productivity and easier handling in tough spots. The FR920 comes with a choice of three crop processor roll configurations, and is equipped to serve the needs of any professional chopping operation.

Introducing a great new choice for large commercial hay growers looking to produce heavy, dense bales from light-weight, dry, slick grass and hard-to-bale crop residue - The Hesston by Massey Ferguson 2370 Ultra High Density baler. This powerhouse is the industry’s first and only Class 8 baler, designed to reduce the total number of bales handled and cut operating costs. The announcement was made by Duluth AGCO Corporation at the recent 2018 World Ag Expo in Tulare, California.

New Holland North America has expanded its T9 SmartTrax lineup with two new models - the T9.539 and the T9.565. These lower horsepower track units were designed specifically with small broad acre and large row crop customers in mind. The combination of less horsepower and a larger footprint allow for maximum operator performance with less compaction, more traction, and more pulling power. 

Finally, a compact track loader with all the power of a C238, but without the need for DEF (diesel exhaust fluid)! New Holland Construction’s newest loader, the C237 can lift more, haul heavier loads, and hold fast to steep slopes all without the extra horsepower derived from DEF. Manitou recently announced its three NewAg MLT Telecopic Loaders, all of which will be on the North American market some time in 2018. The debut was made at both the National Farm Machinery Show and the World Ag Expo. The MLT 630, MLT 733, and the MLT 737 each comes with the promise of increased comfort, performance, and efficiency, and all can be fitted with numerous attachments.

New Holland's newest contribution to the world of agriculture comes in the new 9200 CornMaster Series of corn heads. Designed specifically for planting in row spacings of 20” and 22” and ranging from 12-18 row units, this series provides maximum combine productivity. Moreover, these narrow corn heads outperform all others in terms of grain in the bin and clean picking resulting in less MOG (material other than grain).

Exciting news for John Deere this week, as the GOOD DESIGN Award for design excellence and innovation has been presented to John Deere for their 310 articulated dump truck, (or ADT). Consistent design look and sturdy proportions for the 310 ADT contributed to the overall decision. The awards program is presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, and aims to showcase the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs worldwide.
