Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH is investing 35 million euros in the future of their brand new logistics center at their Kirchdorf an der Iller location. This move is meant to strengthen their development in the original location of the Liebherr Group. The ground-breaking construction began earlier this month, when an official ceremony was held, and the project is planned to be completed by 2020.

This September 20th-22nd, the expo PetroTrans is opening its gates for the eighth year in a row to 100 industry shaping companies from all over Europe. The expo will be held in Messe Kassel, Germany, and will serve as an innovation platform for fuel logistics, handling, and transportation. The 12,500 square meter exhibition space will feature companies providing information about the latest developments and solutions for the fuel industry, as well as extensive extras and offers for visitors.

The eCascadia heavy-duty truck and the eM2 106 medium-duty truck are both scheduled to begin customer testing later this year. Volvo is leading the way in electrified transport solutions with the unveiling of their second all-electric truck, the Volvo FE Electric. Their first truck, the Volvo FL Electric, was introduced just three weeks prior to this announcement. This technology allows Volvo trucks and Volvo cars to communicate with each other by sharing real-time traffic hazard information in order to cut down on accidents due to risks that lie on the road ahead. JCB's 512-56 Loadall telescopic handler will now be available with a 74hp JCB EcoMAX engine. This is the first 12,000 lb telehandler not to require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or diesel particulate filter (DPF). The elimination of having to deal with engine aftertreatment is meant to save on operating costs, time, and inconvenience.

John Deere has recently announced customer-driven updates being made to their 13-47 ton excavator models. These updates will improve productivity, uptime, and daily operating costs. Additionally, the 210G LC excavator will now be equipped with a grade guidance system, developed in cooperation with Topcon. This system will provide operators with information on the bucket’s location with respect to a 2D reference or 3D design surface and is ideal for digging trenches for pipe, shaping ditches or slopes, or digging structure foundations.

In recent weeks, Hitachi debuted their next generation wheeled excavator, the ZX190W-6. Not only is this wave of excavator more efficient, reliable, and durable than predecessors, but it’s also more convenient now that it no longer needs a diesel particulate filter (DPF). This is made possible by the excavator’s certified Final Tier 4 (FT4)/EU Stage IV Isuzu engine.
