Caterpillar has recently announced that they are currently in the process of developing brand new EU Stage V-compliant engines across their entire industrial product line. These engines, ranging from the two-cylinder C0.5 to the 12-cylinder and the 32-liter C32, will aim to develop more efficient after-treatment systems, simplify installation in OEM-customer machines, and provide added value for end users of OEM machines. The new engines will not only be fuel-efficient and power-dense, but are also promised to increase productivity and set higher standards for reliability and flexible installation configurations.

The PC4, PC7, and PC10 models are designed for trench, slope, and excavation compaction applications, and promise to deliver productivity alongside powerful performance. The attachments are compatible with the John Deere 26G, 30G, 35, 50G, 60G compact excavators, the 310L, 310L EP, 310SL, 310SL HL, 315SL and 410L backhoes, and most competitive models as well.

Three of Cat’s articulated trucks have recently undergone major design changes in order to improve upon the performance of their C-Series forerunners, the 730C2, 730C2 EJ, and the 735C. The new 730, 730 EJ (Ejector), and 735 include enhanced field-proven features such as innovative new controls, an advanced traction control system, transmission-protection features, a new stability-assist system, a new hoist-assist system, and a fuel saving ECO operating mode.

Manitou will be featuring their electric mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) and three industrial forklifts at the upcoming MODEX Show in Atlanta Georgia on April 9-12th. This demonstration will include the AETJ 49 electric-powered model, which has never been shown in a trade show in North America until now. A press release highlighting Manitou’s new industrial products is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 9th at 12pm at their booth, B2457.

The brand new Cat 24 Motor Grader is a testament to the already strong heritage of the company's M Series Motor Graders, offering high performance construction and maintenance capabilities on mine roads in order to make miner’s jobs easier and more efficient. Additionally, with its innovative, modular design, removing and installing components is easier than ever and up to 70 percent faster. This Motor Grader is application matched for medium to large mines that run trucks with loads over 180 tonnes and outfitted with a 7.3-m (24 foot) wide moldboard. The 24 Motor Grader is also equipped with Standard Cat GRADE with Cross Slope in order to improve operator productivity and haul road quality, in turn decreasing rolling resistance, reducing premature tire failure, and lowering truck tire wear overall.

Volvo has recently upgraded their line-up with their all new D-Series, which consists of MC110D, MC115D, and MC135D skid steer loaders, along with MCT110D, MCT125D, and MCT135D compact track loaders. Revamped and improved, this powerhouse series renders a stronger boom design, greater strength, and higher lifting capacities, up to 11 percent. In addition, improved safety and operator comfort means a cab that offers 30 percent more room and up to 60 percent better visibility, giving this series a fierce leg up against the competition.

Ammann’s introduction of their digital monitoring system, ServiceLink, has been making life easier for operators since the beginning of this year. The technology works as a mobile monitor that provides accurate networked fleet monitoring as well as digital control of key machine data for APR, APH, and ARW series compactors. With this new tool, operators can optimize maintenance and fleet control while monitoring things like battery status, maintenance intervals, and documentation that can be accessed via the Ammann Service App or the Service Portal.

John Deere has recently incorporated SmartGrade technology into their Dubuque, Iowa, manufactured 950K PAT dozer, delivering precise grading performance while eliminating the need for external masts and cables. The overall quality of work is improved through the integration of the Topcon 3D-MC 2 Grade-Control System, which is fully incorporated into the structures, software, and machine cabin. Combining North America’s largest Power-Angle-Tilt (PAT) dozer with SmartGrade technology, both of which did very well on their own, was a logical next step for delivering the most efficiency for operators.
