The newest in the line of Volvo compact wheel loaders — the L20H and L25H — are designed to meet the latest emission regulations, provide all-round visibility and excellent traction for efficient performance. As an update from the L20F, the new machines are powered by a Volvo D2.6M Tier 4 Final water-cooled engine with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) that eliminates the need for regeneration or additives. The L20H and L25H also have 5 percent greater fuel efficiency and 8 percent more horsepower than their predecessor models. To improve cycle times, the fully automatic hydrostatic drive has two speed settings, with the ability to reach maximum speeds of 18.6 mph (30 kph).

Adding to the suite of Assist programs available through the Volvo Co-Pilot interface, Compact Assist for Soil is now available in North America. Compact Assist for Soil offers real-time guidance to the operator by displaying number of passes and Compaction Meter Value (CMV), showing operators the exact number of passes across the entire work area, as well as whether those areas have reached sufficient compaction.

The new D375A-8 crawler dozer has been unveiled by Komatsu America. The D375A-8 features an EPA Tier 4 Final certified engine that produces over 20% more horsepower while the dozer is traveling in the reverse direction. The additional horsepower yields faster cycle times and a productivity increase of up to 18%. The D375A-8 also features an improved suspended undercarriage, larger viscous cab mounts, and a new air-suspension heated and ventilated seat for overall operator comfort.

The founding plant of the Liebherr Group, Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH, has delivered their 75,000th excavator. The anniversary machine was unveiled to the staff of 1,700 employees during a celebratory event. The A 918 Compact Litronic wheeled excavator received a unique graffiti design by Claudia Walde, aka MadC, one of the world's most well-known graffiti artists. The compact wheeled excavator will join the fleet of Liebherr Rental Services.

Ammann has four new soil compactors, the ASC 110 T4f, ASC 130 T4f, ASC 150 T4f and ASC 170 T4f, which feature the latest Deutz engine and meet all U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage 4 Final emissions requirements. The new single drum soil compactors provide optimal performance on any jobsite, including motorways, railways, airfields, rock dams, industrial zones, harbours and residential areas.

Komatsu America has debuted the second generation PC210LCi-11 hydraulic excavator, with Komatsu's intelligent machine control technology and the eagerly-awaited, machine-control-joystick functionality. The intelligent machine control technology offers up to a 63% improvement in excavating efficiency over a standard PC210LC-11 and traditional stake-plus-grade-checker methods.

The Link-Belt 145 X4 minimum-swing radius (MSR) excavator is now available in the US and Canada and features an electronically-controlled 102 horsepower Isuzu engine that meets EPA Final Tier 4 requirements, without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The Link-Belt 145 X4 delivers up to 3% faster cycle times than its predecessor, an increase of 1% lifting capacity, and fuel efficiency is also improved.

Ditch Witch has inked a new partnership with Utilicor Technologies to bring the benefits of advanced keyhole technology and reinstatement to contractors, municipalities and utilities. The two organizations developed the Utilicor MTC100 coring attachment, which works exclusively with the SK line of mini skid steers and is the first product entry into the coring market for Ditch Witch. Keyhole coring has proven itself to be a less-costly, safer and less-disruptive approach to underground roadway and sidewalk utility repairs than traditional, large excavation techniques.

Work zones along the highway are dangerous places and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has unveiled a work zone vehicle designed to take safety one step further for roadway maintenance crews. The Autonomous Impact Protection Vehicle (AIPV) will help improve work zone safety by removing the driver from a truck that is actually designed to be hit. The Impact Protection Vehicle is normally positioned behind road construction crews in order to protect workers from the public.

With an operating weight of 82,000 pounds (37,195 kg), the Roadtec SX-8 is capable of cutting up to 20 inches (508mm) deep and 100 inches (2,540mm) wide and is designed for road rehabilitation, cold recycling, or soil stabilization. The SX-8e/ex is the largest in the Roadtec line of soil stabillizer-reclaimer machines.

The 1050K pipelayer is available in two configurations for 170,000 pounds (PL170) and 220,000 pounds (PL220) of maximum lift capacity, has 350 horsepower, and a dual-path hydrostatic transmission.

Ammann has rolled out the red carpet on their new RSS 120-M, which serves as a Shredder, Iron Separator and Screener, making it a 3-in-1 machine. It is a mobile machine that prepares recycled asphalt for use in an asphalt plant and can go from installation to production in as quickly as 30 minutes. The Ammann RSS 120-M is track-mounted for maximum mobility on all types of terrain.

With improved operator comfort and EPA Tier 4 Final certified engine, the new Komatsu WA200-8 wheel loader is a high production, low fuel consumption addition to the Komatsu line of wheel loaders. The WA200-8’s parallel-lift linkage and breakout force make it a useful for everything from pallet handling to hard digging and fuel consumption drops by up to four percent in V-cycle as well as load-and-carry applications.

The adaptive working lighting is an intelligent light control system that always shows the working area in the best light. The Liebherr key with remote control opens the driver’s door at the push of a button and activates the cab lighting.
