Many might not know that the Liebherr Group has roots dating back 70 years ago during the rebuilding of Germany and Europe. On August 19th, 1949, Hans Liebherr was issued a patent for the first mobile tower crane by the German Patent Office. This invention paved the way for the success story that followed.

Hitachi’s all new EX3600-7 mining excavator is their fourth machine to be added to the new EX-7 Series lineup. Built for increased efficiency, durability, and reliability, this newly unveiled model offers a level of quality unsurpassed by its predecessors. This release follows the launch of the EX5600-7, EX2600-7 and EX1200-7, and will be available for customers in North and South America.

In an effort to offer the power and comfort customers desire, John Deere has rolled out their new Class Production Class L-Series wheel loaders. Designed for the toughest and most demanding worksites, the series includes three models: the 744L, the 824L, and the 844L. These wheel loaders come equipped with new electrohydraulic (EH) controls and an improved HVAC system in addition to a roomier cab, making the experience of operation much more comfortable and productive. 

Komatsu America Corp has debuted of their new WA900-8 wheel loader, designed to load more trucks per shift. As a leading global heavy equipment manufacturer, Komatsu purpose-built the WA900-8 to load 70-150 ton haul trucks in a more comfortable work environment. This 256,618 lb. model even comes equipped with an EPA Tier 4 Final certified emission regulations-compliant engine. 

Komatsu America Corp. is upping their game with new technology that offers integrated machine control 100% of the time. With Proactive Dozing Control logic, operators can not only perform auto-spreading,  auto-stripping, and high production dozing, but they can also finish grading as well. This precision driven system, built on the company’s already existing intelligent machine control, will be available on Komatsu D51EXi-24, D51PXi-24, D61EXi-24 and D61PXi-24 dozers.

Hiab, part of Cargotec, is extending their standard warranty globally to now encompass two years for all LOGLIFT and JONSERED forestry and recycling crane models. Terms and conditions will remain the same as before, with the three year warranty still applying to steel components. The warranty will be valid for any cranes ordered after August 1st of 2019.

Who would have ever guessed that a successful and expanding forestry company would have blossomed out of the simple desire to own a four-wheeler? For Drew Betts, owner of Clay Hill Equipment based out of New Brunswick, Canada, this unconventional progression is exactly what got him to where to he is today. At the age of only 32, Bett’s company, which started with only one employee, now consists of 30 employees, a fleet of seven harvesters working four Waratah heads, three forwarders, and nine trucks. But how did he get here? 

John Deere is taking its 344L compact wheel loader to new heights with the addition of a high-lift option. This new feature will allow operators to reach further for more accessible dumping, stacking, material handling, landscaping, snow removal, or general construction tasks. 

Registration is now open for Volvo Construction Equipment's 2019-2020 Road Institute. This program is the paving industry’s premier operator and technician training opportunity which offers value to both veterans and newcomers alike. The courses will run from November 2019 through May 2020, offering a combination of classroom and hands-on training on a variety of maintenance and operations concepts. 

Case IH is expanding their Flex Hoe series of hoe air drills with the brand new Flex Hoe 900. Operators can now have the flexibility necessary to make quick adjustments across changing terrains with this durable seeding solution. The Flex Hoe 900 model is agronomically designed for efficient seeding of small grains in all ground conditions.

John Deere is now offering their Registered Apprenticeship Program to their Agriculture & Turf and Construction & Forestry dealers. The program was recently approved by the U.S. Department of Labor and is meant to provide dealers with a formalized, on-the-job, technical training plan in order to groom more highly skilled workers. The program aims to address a widespread shortage of service technicians, a problem especially felt in rural areas throughout the country.  

SnowEx has introduced their newest, large carrying capacity snow pusher, the POWER PUSHER TE. Made for skid-steers, wheel loaders, backhoes, and tractors, these models come in 8- and 10-foot wide dimensions. The most exciting feature of these new snow pushers are the steel trip-edges that are made for delivering cleaner pavement scrapes so that operators can rest assured they are getting the most out of every pass.

Volvo is taking a stance on traditional difficult-to-read telematic fault codes with their newest series of videos poking fun of this very problem. The company is aiming to draw attention to the fact that traditional equipment codes that customers receive when there is a problem are not easily deciphered by the average, everyday customer. No worries though! Volvo also offers a solution to this problem with their ActiveCare Direct 24/7/365 machine monitoring and fleet utilization service that sends customers easy-to-understand email alerts.

John Deere’s newest training facility in Coal Valley, Illinois was recently completed, offering trainees 7,500 square feet of training space. More than half of the facility - 4,0000 square feet - is covered canopy space for outdoor training and equipment walkarounds. This new Construction & Forestry Training Campus also features three classrooms that can be used individually for separate training purposes or combined in order to hold events for up to 250 people.

Pettibone’s newest jobsite workhorse, the Extendo 1246 telehandler, is a powerhouse built to deliver an impressive 12,000 pounds of load capacity. The Volvo Group and NVIDIA have entered into a new partnership to jointly develop the decision making system of autonomous commercial vehicles and machines. Volvo will be incorporating NVIDIA’s end-to-end artificial intelligence platform in order to further their ability to safely handle autonomous driving on public surface streets and highways. The new platform will enable better training, simulations, and in-vehicle computing, and in order to ultimately provide the company with enhanced safety and efficiency.

Komatsu Forest is launching their upgraded 2020 product range, featuring mostly new machines, with all of them coming equipped with a brand-new engine installation conforming to the latest emission regulations. Komatsu, working in collaboration with SkogsNolia, will be debuting a number of quality improvements and new functions to their machines to simplify daily tasks for operators with an ultimate goal of increasing profitability. This includes the addition of the new MaxiVision service and the future-proof control system, MaxiXT, which take production planning to the next level.

Volvo Construction Equipment has launched Haul Assist as a standard addition to all Volvo A35G through A60H haulers, which the option to add it onto A25G and A30G models as well. This new system, available in North America and powered by the Volvo Co-Pilot display, provides real-time insights and data to achieve enhanced productivity and optimal payloads. Haul Assist details how much material an articulated hauler has moved, therefore allowing for enhanced overall decision making and target hitting.

Hiab, part of Cargotec, is making exciting updates and changes to the interconnectedness of their equipment. Starting the second half of 2019, they will be connecting a majority of their equipment as a standard factory feature. This means customers buying equipment can rest assured that their products are enabled for any future connected services, such as Hiab’s HiConnect.
