Komatsu America Corp. is upping their game with new technology that offers integrated machine control 100% of the time. With Proactive Dozing Control logic, operators can not only perform auto-spreading,  auto-stripping, and high production dozing, but they can also finish grading as well. This precision driven system, built on the company’s already existing intelligent machine control, will be available on Komatsu D51EXi-24, D51PXi-24, D61EXi-24 and D61PXi-24 dozers.

Hiab, part of Cargotec, is extending their standard warranty globally to now encompass two years for all LOGLIFT and JONSERED forestry and recycling crane models. Terms and conditions will remain the same as before, with the three year warranty still applying to steel components. The warranty will be valid for any cranes ordered after August 1st of 2019.

John Deere is now offering their Registered Apprenticeship Program to their Agriculture & Turf and Construction & Forestry dealers. The program was recently approved by the U.S. Department of Labor and is meant to provide dealers with a formalized, on-the-job, technical training plan in order to groom more highly skilled workers. The program aims to address a widespread shortage of service technicians, a problem especially felt in rural areas throughout the country.

John Deere’s newest training facility in Coal Valley, Illinois was recently completed, offering trainees 7,500 square feet of training space. More than half of the facility - 4,0000 square feet - is covered canopy space for outdoor training and equipment walkarounds. This new Construction & Forestry Training Campus also features three classrooms that can be used individually for separate training purposes or combined in order to hold events for up to 250 people.

The Volvo Group and NVIDIA have entered into a new partnership to jointly develop the decision making system of autonomous commercial vehicles and machines. Volvo will be incorporating NVIDIA’s end-to-end artificial intelligence platform in order to further their ability to safely handle autonomous driving on public surface streets and highways. The new platform will enable better training, simulations, and in-vehicle computing, and in order to ultimately provide the company with enhanced safety and efficiency.

Volvo Construction Equipment has launched Haul Assist as a standard addition to all Volvo A35G through A60H haulers, which the option to add it onto A25G and A30G models as well. This new system, available in North America and powered by the Volvo Co-Pilot display, provides real-time insights and data to achieve enhanced productivity and optimal payloads. Haul Assist details how much material an articulated hauler has moved, therefore allowing for enhanced overall decision making and target hitting.
