The 30th Annual National Trailer Dealers Association Convention (NTDA) was planned for Nov. 4–6, 2020 at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, CA, located in Riverside County, CA. Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Riverside County, all non-essential public gatherings of any size are prohibited. As such, there is no option for the NTDA to go forward with an in-person Convention in 2020. Likewise, many member companies have issued travel restrictions for their personnel.

Therefore, the NTDA Convention Committee voted to cancel the 2020 Convention and alternatively offer members a Virtual Convention. There will be no cost for 2020 NTDA Convention Sponsors, Exhibitors, or members to log onto the 2020 NTDA Virtual Convention. The online format will go live on Nov. 4, 2020 and will be available to members through September 2021. A link to access the site will be provided to members.

To better meet customer needs, Komatsu is upgrading its XT-5 family of tracked feller bunchers, adding performance and operator improvements, as well as covering the machines with a special 2-Year/5,000-Hour warranty program. The XT430-5, XT445L-5 and XT465L-5 models were introduced in 2018, and these advancements were made based on customer feedback.

Doosan Bobcat North America and Green Machine Equipment announced a partnership to produce electric/hydraulic Bobcat compact excavators. Green Machine will custom retrofit Bobcat excavators with their proprietary battery technology to replace the standard diesel power source and will sell the machines in select markets beginning this year. These electric/hydraulic machines will provide the power and performance equivalent to diesel-powered models, along with considerably lower daily operating costs, zero emissions, reduced noise and minimal maintenance. The electric/hydraulic compact excavators will be beneficial to operators working in urban environments, such as working close to other buildings or in public spaces.

A high-speed driveline option is now available on Volvo Construction Equipment L45H and L50H compact wheel loaders, which more than doubles top speeds from 12 mph (20 km/h) to 31 mph (50km/h). This allows the machines to travel more quickly between jobsites and can also reduce cycle times.

Expanding on its lineup of attachments, John Deere unveiled its new CP18E, CP24E and CP30E cold planers. These new attachments offerings help operators who work on street repairs, leveling uneven pavement, texturing pavement and cleaning around larger milling machines. The CP18E, CP24E and CP30E are compatible with John Deere skid steers and compact track loaders, as well as equipment offered by competitors.

Waratah Forestry Equipment unveiled the new H415HD, a heavy-duty harvesting head with new features and options to suit customer feedback and rugged application needs. Standard features of the H415HD include an HD tilt frame with thicker steel plate, expander pins for upper tilt cylinder, feed roller arms, and lower delimbing knives – to improve pin durability and frame longevity. Additionally, HD feed motor and hose guards help improve durability.

Building on the success of prior Bobcat telescopic tool carriers, has recently expanded its line with the new V923 VersaHANDLER telescopic tool carrier. The new V923 expands the Bobcat family of VersaHANDLER telescopic tool carriers, also known as telehandlers, making it ideal for operators who need increased lift height, reach and capacity. Featuring a 130-horsepower turbocharged Bobcat engine and heavy-duty drive train, the V923 offers an increased rated operating capacity of 9,000 pounds for more productivity with every lift cycle and unbeatable pushing strength. In addition, the new V923 gives operators the versatility they need in numerous applications with a travel speed of up to 24.5 mph. A Z-Bar boom linkage delivers greater range of bucket rotation, an increased dump angle at full height and increased breakout force to lift material out of a pile and dump it easily. Plus, the new V923 features the power quick-tach attachment mounting system to increase utilization.

Bobcat is expanding its product offering with the new Bobcat MT100 mini track loader. Powered by a durable Tier 4 diesel engine and efficient hydraulic system, the new mini track loader delivers fast cycle times, strong breakout force and excellent pushing ability. The MT100 has a rated operating capacity of 1,000 pounds and comes standard with removable counterweights, which can be mounted in the undercarriage or at the rear of the machine on the uprights, to increase lifting performance. Plus, the MT100 is equipped with a completely new, more durable undercarriage that requires no daily maintenance.

A new, John Deere low monthly payment  program is available for customers who want to own the quality and reliability of John Deere’s five compact excavators, skid steers and compact track loader models. Bobcat is introducing four all-new, 60 frame size vertical lift path loaders to its product lineup: the Bobcat® R-Series T64 and T66 compact track loaders and S64 and S66 skid-steer loaders. These new loaders will join the T76 compact track loaders and S76 skid-steer loaders that were launched February 2020. The T64 and S64 offer 68 horsepower and 2,300-pound rated operating capacity. The T66 and S66 models offer 74 horsepower and 2,450- and 2,400-pound rated operating capacity, respectively.

KOBELCO has released the SK130LC-11 excavator in North America. The SK130LC-11 is the first model to be introduced as part of KOBELCO’s next generation of excavators, the Generation 11, which bring power, productivity and efficiency to new heights. The new KOBELCO SK130LC-11 maximizes job productivity with its nimble movement and outstanding digging power. This revolutionary model delivers a dynamic digging force of 24,818 lbs. to achieve leading-class work volume, even while minimizing fuel consumption. Caterpillar has added three new compact wheel loader models to the lineup, each with significant design enhancements: 910, 914, and 920, the latter replacing the 918M. New options are available, and certain features available only as options on former models are now standard. All the new models are available in a high-lift configuration, and the 914 and 920 are available in an aggregate-handling configuration.
