Managers of large construction projects now have a powerful new technological tool in their arsenal to help them work more efficiently and economically. Komatsu is pleased to announce the North American launch of its Smart Construction Remote application, which allows users to send new design data to machines in the field, and remotely support operators, without traveling to the job site.

John Deere is rolling out three new single-motor, high-flow snow blower models just in time for peak snow-removal season. Compatible with the John Deere compact track loaders, compact wheel loaders and skid steers, the SB72D, SB78D and SB84D Snow Blowers incorporate features, such as hydraulically operated poly-lined chutes and deflectors, reinforced wrappers, adjustable skid shoes and two auger options for improved performance and durability.

Bobcat Company is creating more intelligent, connected technologies and services that are reshaping how work gets done. Bobcat® Machine IQ wireless communication, launched in 2019, is a service designed to help owners and fleet managers better utilize their machines. Now it’s been upgraded with two new subscription packages – Machine IQ Basics and Machine IQ Health and Security – for customers to check on the health of machines and remotely track information that enhances maintenance, security and performance.

The Liebherr-France SAS development and production site launches a new machine on the global market: As a successor to the R 944 C, the R 940 Demolition complements the product range, which already includes the R 950 Demolition and the R 960 Demolition.

The Liebherr engine, which complies with exhaust emissions standard Stage V, reaches an output of 200 kW, features a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), SCR system, particulate filter and does not have an EGR valve, thus ensuring lower fuel consumption and higher productivity. This machine is also available in a Tier 4 Final version, as well as for less regulated markets with a corresponding engine.

Designed with the demands of today’s job site in mind, John Deere introduced the new E-II Articulated Dump Trucks (ADTs). The models, including the 410E-II and 460E-II, incorporate customer-driven features, resulting in greater operator comfort, reduced fuel burn, increased uptime and lowered daily operating costs. With a redesigned dump body, updated operator station, and new drive and transmission retarder modes, the John Deere-designed and -built E-II models deliver ultimate productivity on the job.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company’s Rivers and Lakes Division was faced with sediment-filled ditches and pockets of connecting standing water on a large dredging project in Argenta, Illinois. The contractor wanted to consider a new and more efficient approach than the traditional bucket. A unique attachment called the Ditch Doctor turned out the be the right fit.  

Bobcat is widening its attachment offering with the introduction of new large excavator attachments. The versatile lineup includes the Bobcat® trenching bucket, grading bucket and pin grabber, as well as main pin and pro-link thumb attachments paired specifically with the E145 and E165 large excavators.

Volvo Construction Equipment is making its Load Assist machine control applications compatible on a wider range of Volvo CE wheel loaders, from the L60H to the L350H, and is introducing several new Load Assist applications. Furthermore, Volvo is launching several productivity and serviceability enhancements to those same machines.

When maximum return on equipment investment is key, track loader versatility means one machine and one operator can dig, load, carry, fill and more. The new Cat® 963 Track Loader combines that versatility with up to 10 percent better fuel efficiency, more productivity and cab and controllability improvements. The 963 meets U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final/EU Stage V emission standards. At 202 hp (151 kW) and an operating weight of 44,881 lbs (20 358 kg), the new 963 crawler loader replaces the 963K. 

New for 2020, John Deere introduced the 200G model to its excavator lineup. Designed to decrease the amount of fuel burn without sacrificing power or productivity, the 200G Excavator enables operators to quickly complete tough jobs while also lowering overall operation costs. Combined with John Deere’s broad bucket portfolio, coupler options and attachments, and accelerated swing speed, the 200G machine is ideal for many applications, including site development, roadbuilding, earthmoving and irrigation work.

Doosan Bobcat North America and Green Machine Equipment announced a partnership to produce electric/hydraulic Bobcat compact excavators. Green Machine will custom retrofit Bobcat excavators with their proprietary battery technology to replace the standard diesel power source and will sell the machines in select markets beginning this year. These electric/hydraulic machines will provide the power and performance equivalent to diesel-powered models, along with considerably lower daily operating costs, zero emissions, reduced noise and minimal maintenance. The electric/hydraulic compact excavators will be beneficial to operators working in urban environments, such as working close to other buildings or in public spaces.

A high-speed driveline option is now available on Volvo Construction Equipment L45H and L50H compact wheel loaders, which more than doubles top speeds from 12 mph (20 km/h) to 31 mph (50km/h). This allows the machines to travel more quickly between jobsites and can also reduce cycle times.

Bobcat is expanding its product offering with the new Bobcat MT100 mini track loader. Powered by a durable Tier 4 diesel engine and efficient hydraulic system, the new mini track loader delivers fast cycle times, strong breakout force and excellent pushing ability. The MT100 has a rated operating capacity of 1,000 pounds and comes standard with removable counterweights, which can be mounted in the undercarriage or at the rear of the machine on the uprights, to increase lifting performance. Plus, the MT100 is equipped with a completely new, more durable undercarriage that requires no daily maintenance.

Bobcat is expanding its excavator product offering with its newest addition: the Bobcat® E165 large excavator. The E165 large excavator will be the largest excavator in the lineup.

Delivering class-leading hydraulic performance, the E165 provides reliable, steady power to save time with every digging cycle. The machine boasts leading lifting capabilities that enables operators to lift more with greater confidence so they can pick and place items with ease. The E165 also builds on the company’s established reputation for delivering exceptional operator comfort and simplified maintenance.

Designed to fit the needs of construction, agricultural, and landscaping professionals, John Deere debuted two new trencher models, the TC36 and TC48, to its family of attachments. The newly introduced TC36 and TC48 trenchers are ideal economic models for lighter-duty tasks and equipment rental. These attachment models are compatible on John Deere skid steers and compact track loader models, as well as most competitive models.

A new, John Deere low monthly payment  program is available for customers who want to own the quality and reliability of John Deere’s five compact excavators, skid steers and compact track loader models. The 17G and 30G excavators, 312GR and 316GR skid steers or 317G compact track loader are eligible to receive special financing options that are easy on the wallet, but tough on the job.

Kobelco USA introduced the enhanced SK140SRLC-7 excavator model in North America. The next-generation SK140SRLC-7 sets the standard for mid-sized machines and offers full-size benefits with short rear swing capabilities and exceptional features.
Performance advancements allow the SK140SRLC-7 to deliver greater efficiency and productivity as well as increased power and speed than its predecessor. The upgraded SK140SRLC-7 boasts a dynamic digging force of 24,800 lbs. to achieve leading-class work volume. A compact design and long digging reach capabilities provide a broad working range and easy maneuverability, while a top-of-class digging depth of 19’ 7” and impressive swing speed of 11 rpm shorten cycle times by ~10%.

Bobcat is introducing four all-new, 60 frame size vertical lift path loaders to its product lineup: the Bobcat® R-Series T64 and T66 compact track loaders and S64 and S66 skid-steer loaders. These new loaders will join the T76 compact track loaders and S76 skid-steer loaders that were launched February 2020. The T64 and S64 offer 68 horsepower and 2,300-pound rated operating capacity. The T66 and S66 models offer 74 horsepower and 2,450- and 2,400-pound rated operating capacity, respectively.
