The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is hosting WASTECON 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona, the fifth-largest city in the United States this October 21-24th. The event serves to cultivate the development of a circular economy as well as job creation within the solid waste industry, as well as plan for sustainable futures within communities. With a population of nearly two million people, this hotbed of creativity, also known as the innovation district or the PHX Core, is the perfect place to bring together startups, business incubators, accelerators, entrepreneurs, and universities for a week of learning, networking, and fun. 

Conference topics illustrate innovative ideas and successes in solid waste management: innovation in management techniques, developing a circular economy and tackling marine litter.
