Liebherr will be unveiling its new LTM 1120-4.1 at the CONEXPO in Las Vegas using the slogan “There’s nothing more on 4!” It is the most powerful 4-axle all-terrain crane ever built. The new 135 US ton (120 t) machine breaks into a performance class which has previously been the sole preserve of 5-axle cranes. As far as boom length is concerned, it is on a par with 240 US-ton (200 t) class cranes as its 217 ft (66 m) telescopic boom is the longest ever to be installed on a 4-axle mobile crane. Liebherr will start deliveries of the new LTM 1120-4.1 in autumn 2020.

On August 19th, 1949, Hans Liebherr was issued a patent for the first mobile tower crane by the German Patent Office. This invention paved the way for the success story that followed.

Hiab, part of Cargotec, is extending their standard warranty globally to now encompass two years for all LOGLIFT and JONSERED forestry and recycling crane models. Terms and conditions will remain the same as before, with the three year warranty still applying to steel components. The warranty will be valid for any cranes ordered after August 1st of 2019.

To be showcased at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, the new DL500 will be on display at Hiab’s UK stand 4C10 at the CV Show. This new, lighter model, which will be introduced through the remainder of 2019, is easier to install and comes equipped with new safety features.

Liebherr will be one of the many companies attending this year’s Bauma 2019 in April, and they will be presenting their brand new 125 K fast-erecting crane. Featuring a maximum hook height of 65.5 meters and a radius of 55 meters, this will be the fastest erecting crane on the market to date. The 125 K will be available for purchase worldwide beginning in March, preceding its appearance at the expo.

National Crane has taken a highly demanded concept to production in just eight months with their newest tractor-mounted version of their popular NBT30H-2 with the NBT30H-2 TM. Making use of their Voice of the Customer feedback program, an integral part of The Manitowoc Way, National Crane’s engineering team created this 30 USt machine with the help of a cross-functional team of experts from Manitowoc’s Lift Solutions team and National Crane’s Truck Modification Center. This new crane features 360° stability and a 69 ft boom, making it ideal for oil field applications and taxi crane work.

Fassi Gru and Volvo Trucks Italia have teamed up to bring the construction world FX-Link technology. The idea behind the tech was to make a crane and a vehicle more of a whole, optimizing the connectivity between the crane and truck to control different truck functions from the crane remote and vise versa. The new tech will be showcased at the 67th annual IAA Hannover exhibition at stand 51 of Fassi Gru S.p.A. in the outdoor area “M”, September 20th through the 27th.

Cropan Equipment, a Terex Cranes distributor for Atlantic Canada, is expanding their lineup by offering 35 new models of Terex tower cranes. Already one of the largest distributors of Demag and Terex cranes in Canada, the company is also expanding their territory to include all of Eastern Canada as well. The additions will include models of several varieties, including Terex flat top, hammerhead, and luffing jib tower cranes, all of which can be found currently at any of Cropac’s four locations.

Last week, Gehl introduced four brand new DL Gen:3 telescopic handler models to the North American market. The DL11-44 GEN:3, DL11-55 GEN:3, DL12-40 GEN:3 and DL12-55 GEN:3 models have been improved on by the addition of an all-in-one joystick control for boom extension and retraction, auxiliary hydraulics, attachment tilt, and and forward/neutral/reverse capabilities. This comprehensive joystick gives the operator the ability to leave one hand on the steering wheel while still controlling all machine functions with the other.

As one of the global leaders in on-road handlings, Hiab, part of Cargotec, has decided to enter an agreement to acquire Effer S.p.A from the CTE Group. Acquiring the Effer loader cranes business speaks to Hiab’s already established ambition to be the global leader in cranes. Hiab obtained the well-known crane manufacturer at 50 million euros.

Manitou is now offering an even more expansive lineup of forklifts for their North American market. The new additions include eight internal combustion diesel models joining the Manitou MI Industrial Forklift Range, and four new electric models joining the ME Industrial Forklift Range. This means that Manitou’s line of North American industrial forklifts now consists of 12 MI models and 14 ME models total.

JCB's 512-56 Loadall telescopic handler will now be available with a 74hp JCB EcoMAX engine. This is the first 12,000 lb telehandler not to require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or diesel particulate filter (DPF). The elimination of having to deal with engine aftertreatment is meant to save on operating costs, time, and inconvenience.

Manitou recently introduced their three brand new North American MTA Easy74 telescopic handler models. These consist of the MTA 6642 Easy74, MTA 8044 Easy74 and MTA 10055 Easy74, all of which come with 74-horsepower and the same reliability customers have come to know and love. Each handler also comes with a turbocharged diesel engine and three steering modes.
