BWS Trailers and Bodies - 50 Years of Success
Started in 1967, BWS has grown from a second generation family run business into a successful corporation building state-of-the-art trailers and bodies for about every application imaginable--agriculture, construction, forestry, oil & gas, commercial trucking, and specialized trailers. Fast forward to 2017 and it seems hard to believe that BWS started in the manor that it did, in the small village of Centreville, NB and has grown exponentially over time. This was a single person operation in its inception, but no longer is that the truth. From small, humble beginnings in an effort to provide a service to the local area, Bernie’s Welding Shop was born. Burney McDougall started by making small custom projects for farm and forestry. Gradually, projects like outfitting trucks with plows and dump bodies came to the fruition.

CASE DL450: The Industry’s First Fully Integrated Compact Dozer Loader
CASE Construction has unveiled its concept for the perfect meld between the compact and the powerful, the DL450 compact dozer loader - AKA “Project Minotaur”. With more than 30 patents pending, what sets this machine apart is a C-Frame dozer interface that pins directly into the chassis, taking stress of the loader arm, allowing for the smooth operation characteristic of a CTL with the easy transition to a dozer. Meant to serve the needs of contractors of all kinds, from landscapers to residential and commercial contractors, this machine is a great choice for contractors looking to reduce the number of vehicles deployed to a worksite.

6 Ways Low Fuel Prices Affect Carriers
Springtime freight is coming on strong, and rates are climbing. We're starting to see more of the seasonal trends we're used to, but freight rates from DAT RateView show that van rates (including fuel surcharge) on the spot market for February were down 5.1% compared to a year ago. As a national average, that equates to about a 10¢ difference per mile. Spot market rates were elevated throughout 2014 because of the Polar Vortex, but DAT RateView™ data shows that, if you take away the fuel surcharge, the average linehaul rate was actually 9¢ higher in February 2015 than the previous year.
About Freight Rates

- Don't Get Beat on Price
- DAT RateView for Carriers
Diesel was $2.90 per gallon on average nationally at the end of February, $1.11 cheaper than the previous year. As a result, the average fuel surcharge in February 2015 was down to 29¢ per mile, 11¢ lower than last year.
Here are six ways that lower oil prices are changing trucking in 2015:
