Ammann's New ARS 200 and ARS 220 Soil Compactors Provide Quicker Compaction in Fewer Passes [VIDEO]
The ARS machines feature newly designed spacious cabs and intelligent compaction technology that can monitor compaction levels and provide GPS mapping.
The first two models of
Armann's new ARS line of single-drum soil compactors have been introduced--the
ARS 200 and
ARS 220. The ARS 200 T4f/T3 and the ARS 220 T4f/T3 have operating weights of 20 and 22 tonnes and include advanced amplitude and vibratory systems.
The heavy-duty ARS compactors incorporate existing features including a no-rear-axle concept with fully hydrostatic drive to help the machines power through loose underfoot conditions and cohesive soils and perform on uneven terrain and grades, while featuring newly designed spacious cabs with low noise levels and optimal visibility to ensure higher safety.
An intuitive multi-functional display integrated into the steering wheel helps operators of all skill levels fully control all machine functions. The intelligent propulsion system provides optimum gradeability and fuel economy. ATC (Ammann Traction Control) is standard on the ARS 200 and ARS 220 and provides an intelligent system that controls the torque of the wheel and prevents slipping.
The Ammann ACE
force technology, which helps monitor compaction levels, is an option on the ARS 200 and ARS 220. Benefits of ACE
force technology include time savings, fuel savings, and reduced machine wear by alerting when compaction goals have been achieve so that the operator can move onto other areas and avoid unnecessary passes. The technology can also provide documentation and GPS mapping.
Maintenance of the single-drum rollers is fast and easy due to engine access from all four sides. Hydraulic components and other serviceable parts are accessible at ground level and the anti-parallel drum suspension extends the life of rubber mounts.
The single-drum compactors meet the U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage 4 emissions standards and engine options are available with U.S. EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage 3A for customers in applicable countries.
“The goal, as always, is to provide the highest added value to the customer with quicker compaction in fewer passes. These new machines do exactly that.”
