Vermeer is expanding its horizontal direction drilling (HDD) fluid management equipment line and launching its first electric-powered reclaimer with the new Vermeer R500 reclaimer. This is the first model released by Vermeer from the acquisition of electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Normag in 2020. The all-electric R500 reclaimer is a key part of the Vermeer strategy to meet growing demand for electric-powered jobsite solutions.

Vermeer upgrades its truck-mounted vacuum excavator line with the new VXT300 truck vac. The VXT300 is outfitted with an 8-cubic-yard (6.1-m3) spoil tank, 6-inch (15.2-cm) dig tube and the ability to carry up to 800 gallons (3,028 L) of water so crews can maximize productivity on the job. It is one of the lightest truck vacs in its class and designed with a low overall height of just 11.5 feet (3.51 m) to efficiently transport spoils from the jobsite to the dumpsite.

Vermeer announced it has acquired electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Normag. Through this acquisition, Vermeer assumes the rights to develop, manufacture and distribute the proven fully electric HDD rigs, generator sets and fluid management systems, which are currently operating across Europe under the Normag brand.

As a world leader in the HDD and fluid management industry, this acquisition is a key part of the Vermeer strategy to meet growing demand for electric-powered worksite solutions.

Vermeer has expanded its electric-powered recycling product line with the addition of the new TR5300EM trommel screen. This new trommel screen is powered by an industrial-duty, fan-cooled 60-hp (44.7-kW) electric motor, and delivers a drum speed of 0-24 revolutions per minute to handle multiple material types, including compost, topsoil and wood biomass. The quiet operating TR5300EM also features a low hopper infeed with a capacity of 5.5 yd3 (4.2 m3) and includes new service and operating enhancements. The Vermeer TR5300EM is an excellent addition to recycling and organic material processing companies looking to help reduce exhaust emissions, noise levels and maintenance.

Vermeer is enhancing its stump cutter product line with the introduction of the patent-pending Vermeer cutting system (VCS). The VCS incorporates a new tooth design that helps reduce pocket rotation and a cutter wheel that reduces material from recirculating during operation. The VCS is available now on select new Vermeer stump cutters and will soon be available across the entire line, as well as an option for many existing models.

Vermeer has introduced the D220x500 S3 Navigator horizontal directional drill. With the ability to be configured for large-diameter water and utility installs in urban areas, as well as challenging pipeline work, the Vermeer D220x500 S3 delivers up to 54,000 foot pounds (39,828.2 Nm) of torque at a spindle speed of 36 revolutions per minute, 240,400 pounds (1069.4 kN) of thrust/pullback, and fluid flow rates of up to 350 gallons per minute (1324.9 L/min) if the onboard pump is selected.
