Liebherr Delivers First LRT Rough Terrain Cranes

The LRT 1090-2.1 and the LRT 1100-2.1 models can specialize in open-cast mining.

Liebherr LRT Rough Terrain Crane
Wasel GmbH Schwerlastlogistik has accepted two LRT rough-terrain crane models from the Liebherr plant in Ehingen. The company now owns the first of the LRT 1090-2.1 and the LRT 1100-2.1 series. The firm plans to deploy both rough-terrain cranes in opencast mining as well as on major construction sites with long periods of use.

Both models offer enhanced safety equipment. Each features an outrigger monitoring system. The support status is detected automatically and saved to the crane controller. The attachment of the ballast to the turntable and the installation of the optional double folding jib including its angle adjustment system are also recorded and monitored.

In addition, the VarioBase variable support base allows each individual crane support to be extended to arbitrary lengths. The crane work is controlled by the load moment limiter within the LICCON controller, which calculates the maximum load capacities precisely for the current situation. This setup aims to prevent human error accidents during the assembly process and when hoisting loads. As a result of the increased lifting capacities when hoisting over the supports, the crane can hoist loads normally reserved for the next higher crane class.
