On October 11, 2022, heavy equipment manufacturer John Deere launched their new line-up of Performance Tiering Strategy wheel loaders—including the 744, 824, and 844 P-tier models.
In addition to the announcement comes the all-new 904 P-tier Wheel Loader models that boast many new features to boost productivity, reliability, operator comfort, and machine serviceability.
Tech + Design = Improved Performance
According to Solutions Marketing Manager for John Deer, Luke Gribble,
“Whether the machines are working at the face or loading trucks, John Deere customers can be confident that the P-tier machines will provide exceptional performance all day – even in the most rugged applications…Building upon the improvements introduced on the L-series loaders in 2019, the P-tier models incorporate even more technology advancements, providing our customers with a line of dependable and strong wheel loaders to meet the demands of the aggregates industry.”
Under-the-Hood Upgrades
The new models—including the 744, 824, and 844 P-tier Wheel Loaders promise new mechanical features. Extra-durable axles, high-performance transmission systems, and standard lockup torque converters to provide supportive torque to improve shift quality are just some of these upgrades. The 744 and 824 P-tier models also support ground-level servicing functionality, remote engine oil dipstick features, as well as electrical and hydraulic routing for intuitive serviceability.
Enhanced Operator Comfort
Moving from under the hood to inside the cab, the 744, 824, and 844 P-tier Wheel Loaders include a new approach to operator control. Such changes include additional space, storage solutions, and visibility upgrades. When it comes to comfort, the models all come with heated seats that also contain ventilation and an updated HVAC system for year-round climate control.
Axles and Electrohydraulic Controls
Even the base models of all P-tier John Deere Wheel Loaders possess high-performance options. Some of these features include high-capacity heavy-duty axles, axle cooling filtration, increased fuel efficiency, and electrohydraulic (EH) controls. Material-handling bucket attachments now also come with built-in spill guards as well as curved side cutters for streamlined function.
Innovative Technology for the Worksite
In addition to enhanced design elements, the P-tier Wheel Loaders from John Deere also possess new technology to improve efficiency and promote safety on the worksite. Some of these innovations include an Advanced Vision System and an Advanced Obstacle Detection System to improve operator visibility of outside elements. These systems are powered by a series of hi-res digital cameras relaying to cab video displays and a system of distinguishable audio notifications for operators. Reverse-path video displays on similar dedicated screens mean no surprises for operators.
These systems also support and work in tandem with JDLink™ connectivity—John Deere’s remote support and communications technology system.
