Volvo Construction Equipment is entering the 50-ton class for excavators with two models — the EC530E and EC550E — that have digging and lifting forces normally found in 60-ton machines, giving contractors the performance they need to excel in heavy-duty digging, mass excavation and large-scale site preparation.

Volvo CE is adding to its demolition lineup with the new 38-ton EC380E Straight Boom excavator, which replaces the traditional boom-and-stick approach with a 23-foot straight boom and purpose-built arm. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to customer productivity, Volvo CE has introduced Compact Assist Start, a new introductory package of their Intelligent Compaction system, Compact Assist.

Volvo Construction Equipment is boosting its compact excavator range in North America with two new short-swing models: the ECR50 and ECR58. The 5-ton ECR50 is a new entry for Volvo in North America, while the 6-ton ECR58 gains performance updates from the contractor-favorite D-series model.

With a rear swing of 5 feet 1 inch and a front swing of 5 feet 11 inches, the EWR130E has the shortest swing radius in the 12- to 13-ton range. When coupled with new four-wheel steering and in-line outrigger options, the result is a machine that is easy to control and stable.

Volvo Construction Equipment has unveiled the EX03, the company’s first electric prototype in the mid-size excavator range. With low noise, zero exhaust emissions and reduced maintenance needs, the EX03 represents the future for safer and more environmentally responsible construction sites.

Volvo Construction Equipment has released the all-new EW200E Material Handler, aimed at the light waste handling segment. Its bigger brother — the EW240E Material Handler — is updated with a longer boom. Both give customers new options for waste and recycling applications.

Volvo Construction Equipment has launched Haul Assist as a standard addition to all Volvo A35G through A60H haulers, which the option to add it onto A25G and A30G models as well. This new system, available in North America and powered by the Volvo Co-Pilot display, provides real-time insights and data to achieve enhanced productivity and optimal payloads. Haul Assist details how much material an articulated hauler has moved, therefore allowing for enhanced overall decision making and target hitting.

Volvo Construction Equipment is continuing to enhance productivity within its excavator and wheel loader lineup with the addition of Dig Assist Start, (the basic starter package,) now coming standard on all new EC220E to EC480E excavator models. Additionally, Load Assist will come standard an all new L150H to L260H wheel loader models, along with an “Operator Coaching” app. These packages, powered by Volvo Co-Pilot display, will ensure safety while increasing productivity.

Volvo Construction Equipment’s newest crawler excavator offers strong performance without the added cost and features of a larger excavator. Made for light to medium applications, the new excavator gives customers a previously lacking option between Volvo’s 16- and 22-ton machines. Volvo Construction Equipment announced recently that they are expanding their warranty program to include P7110B and P7170B asphalt pavers. The pavers will receive an expanded extended warranty, as well as the Lifetime Frame and Structure Warranty. This additional uptime assurance will give road customers some peace of mind, coming standard on all machines delivered on or after the first of January, 2019.
