The key features of this bit include: a steep taper nose which enables the bit to gain penetration into compacted soils/cobble in order to begin a steering maneuver; the entire perimeter of the bit is protected with carbide impregnated hardsurfacing; the bit body is constructed from 4140 plate for long service life. The result is an aggressive, long lasting bit that is easier to steer than traditional flat faced bits.
