The Mission of Yukon Equipment is to provide world class, heavy equipment products that fulfill the needs of our clients throughout the great state of Alaska. We are committed to excellence in customer service and helping our clients achieve their goals. When our clients succeed in reaching their goals then we have succeeded in reaching ours.
About Yukon Equipment, Inc. In September 1945, only a month before the end of the
War, three men bought an Alaskan outfitting business that would eventually become Yukon Equipment. With what proved to be great insight, they established a heavy-equipment business that has survived the test of time. Over the years, Yukon Equipment, formerly known as Lomen Equipment, has seen many changes take place. Alaska has evolved from a territory of unknown wilderness, to a land of opportunity. One thing that has not changed, however, is Yukon Equipment’s focus on customer service. Providing sales, service and rentals of backhoe loaders, skid steers, excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers, equipment trailers and much more equipment have helped us serve the construction and agricultural needs of Alaska.
Commitment to Customer Yukon Equipment has been treating customers “like family” for over
60 years. We are committed to building lasting relationships that do not end at point of sale.
Gotta Have Parts Yukon Equipment’s parts department not only keeps detailed records on every machine it sells, we also provide 24-hour emergency service. If Yukon Equipment no longer stocks the necessary part, personnel can use “Case Net” to search the inventory of all Case dealers in the United States to find that “no-longer furnished” part for older machines.
Statewide Service Alaska is a vast state. Thus, Yukon Equipment’s broad area of customer
coverage provides a special challenge. Here, the most challenging jobs are out in the bush. It is relatively common for Yukon Equipment mechanics to fly into the bush from Fairbanks or Anchorage to help get a machine back up and running. Our record-keeping system keeps delays to a minimum.
Quality Personnel Yukon Equipment firmly believes that keeping good people makes all the difference. Many have been working with us for over 20 years. Not only does the customer benefit from the technical skills of Yukon Equipment staff, but also from the staff’s wealth of experience. At Yukon Equipment, it doesn’t matter how old your tractor is, we have an employee who has worked on one! Training also plays a key role at Yukon Equipment. A combination of in-house sessions and factory schools ensure Yukon Equipment staff remain up to date on the latest equipment, tools, and
repair techniques.
A Powerful Partnership In August 2010 Yukon Equipment, Inc. became part of the Calista Corporation
family. “Founded in 1972, Calista Corporation is the second largest of the 13 regional corporations established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) of 1971. It is a business corporation formed under state and federal laws, including the settlement act and its amendments.
In the traditional Yup’ik language of our Region, the name “Calista” (pronounced Cha-lista) is a Yupik-Eskimo word meaning “worker”.
We work hard to help our customers achieve their missions and goals, and we base our methods and strategies on the highest ethical standards. Because of this, Calista is dedicated to following its Strategic Plan and building Shareholder Value. Our successful companies and strong revenue growth are evidence of this commitment and will benefit our Shareholders both today and in the future.”
