Franna unveiled the Franna Minemaster range, a series of pick and carry cranes with lift capacities ranging from 15t (17USt) to 40t (44USt) that come fully equipped and ready to work in mining applications.

Vermeer is expanding its horizontal direction drilling (HDD) fluid management equipment line and launching its first electric-powered reclaimer with the new Vermeer R500 reclaimer. This is the first model released by Vermeer from the acquisition of electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Normag in 2020. The all-electric R500 reclaimer is a key part of the Vermeer strategy to meet growing demand for electric-powered jobsite solutions.

Designed and adapted from years of experience in mining truck development, the T 274 is a true 305 tonne machine that provides fast cycle times, higher production rates, low fuel consumption, and a low cost per tonne. This new truck follows the same base design as the T 284, benefitting from its decades of field experience. Operators and technicians can expect to experience first-class comfort and safety while driving and servicing this truck. A wide range of options are available, not only providing maximum productivity even in the harshest conditions, but also catering to the evolving requirements of customers and mine sites.

After years of development, the Mining Division of the Liebherr Group is proud to launch the new R 9600 hydraulic excavator. This 600t excavator sets new standards in the open pit mining market. The successor of the popular R 996B enters the market after gaining a year of field experience in Australia, the largest market for 600-tonne class excavators. This new development builds on years of customer-centric research and is based upon the successful R 9800 800-tonne excavator. A total of 8 units will be operating in Australia by end of 2021. The R 9600 will enter serial production at the end of this year.

Vermeer announced it has acquired electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Normag. Through this acquisition, Vermeer assumes the rights to develop, manufacture and distribute the proven fully electric HDD rigs, generator sets and fluid management systems, which are currently operating across Europe under the Normag brand.

As a world leader in the HDD and fluid management industry, this acquisition is a key part of the Vermeer strategy to meet growing demand for electric-powered worksite solutions.

Komatsu America’s new HD785-8 rigid frame off-highway haul truck, with a Tier 4 Komatsu SAA12V140E-7 engine, has the highest in class net horsepower, 1,140 HP (849 kW) in North America. With a payload capacity of 101.6 U.S. (short) / 92.2 metric tons, it’s built for mining, quarry, and aggregates.

Komatsu America Corp. has introduced their brand new PC2000-11 hydraulic excavator to the market. This model features more horsepower and faster cycle times with improved multifunction performance. These enhancements are thanks in part to the PC2000-11’s EPA Tier 4 Final certified engine and new engine-pump control.

Hitachi’s all new EX3600-7 mining excavator is their fourth machine to be added to the new EX-7 Series lineup. Built for increased efficiency, durability, and reliability, this newly unveiled model offers a level of quality unsurpassed by its predecessors. This release follows the launch of the EX5600-7, EX2600-7 and EX1200-7, and will be available for customers in North and South America.

Vermeer’s new D23x30DR S3 Navigator horizontal directional drill (HDD) efficiently maneuvers through rock in any environment, be in a congested city, a busy neighborhood, or a tight jobsite, with the assistance of dual rod technology. The D23x30DR S3 is the lightest rock drill on the market, featuring a class-leading narrow footprint and weighing only 16,500 pounds. This compactly designed machine is ideal for installation of fiber, electrical, gas, or water in hard rock as well as other difficult ground settings.

Komatsu America has introduced their new PC1250SP-11 and PC1250LC-11 Tier 4 final emissions certified hydraulic excavators. The heavy equipment manufacturer debuted these EPA Tier 4 Final (T4F) certified models - perfect for sewer, water, mass excavation, mining, and quarry applications - with simplicity in mind. Their SAA6D170E-7 engines feature two Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filters (KDPF) that do not require a Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system or Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The new PC1250SP-11 and PC1250LC-11 feature increased power, improved production, and a new single “Power +” operating mode that does not compromise fuel consumption.

The new MX300 mixing system from Vermeer is made specifically to help HDD (horizontal directional drilling) contractors achieve optimized productivity. The right-sized mixing system is key for drilling operations, which is why Vermeer created a new narrow rectangular tank design which aids in maximizing fluid volume and creating a smaller footprint for convenient transportation and storage. The new model is also available with customizable mounting configuration options.

Hitachi’s EX2600-7 and EX5600-7 are now available as part of the new EX-7 Series line of mining excavators, highlighting the company’s focus on continuous improvement through advanced technologies and engineering. Both excavators operate with next-level fuel efficiency thanks to these tech advancements. The new models are built to deliver the ultimate in durability and reliability to markets in both North and South America.

Liebherr Mining Equipment is continuing to make exciting improvements to their ultra-class mining trucks and excavators with things like enhanced performance for T 264 mining trucks and higher, extended hauling capacity for T 282 C and T 284 mining trucks, and real-time tracking of machine health and performance with Liebherr Mining Data. Increased safety, productivity, and performance are at the core of the enhancements being made to these machines. Liebherr is also working to meet global EPA requirements for all of its trucks with tier 4 solutions.

Komatsu America Corp. announced that their FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) has made the cut for operating on the mobile broadband technology, private long-term evolution (LTE). This is the first time that an AHS has qualified to run on private LTE in commercial operations in the mining industry. Not only does this allow for Komatsu to continue to adhere to their own distinguished safety standards, but it also leads the way for ultra-high system availability and reliability.

Komatsu’s FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) is achieving unprecedented milestones with their recent record of more than two billion tons of surface material moved autonomously. The announcement was made earlier this November by the leading global heavy equipment manufacturers, Komatsu America Corp. Impressively, their FrontRunner AHS system has hauled more than all other commercial mining autonomous haulage systems combined.

Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. announced recently that they would be launching the EH5000AC-3 Rigid Dump Truck with trolley system. The addition of the trolley aims to contribute to reducing life cycle costs and improving productivity. The trolley system will be available for worldwide, large-scale mining projects on June 1, 2018.

The brand new Cat 24 Motor Grader is a testament to the already strong heritage of the company's M Series Motor Graders, offering high performance construction and maintenance capabilities on mine roads in order to make miner’s jobs easier and more efficient. Additionally, with its innovative, modular design, removing and installing components is easier than ever and up to 70 percent faster. This Motor Grader is application matched for medium to large mines that run trucks with loads over 180 tonnes and outfitted with a 7.3-m (24 foot) wide moldboard. The 24 Motor Grader is also equipped with Standard Cat GRADE with Cross Slope in order to improve operator productivity and haul road quality, in turn decreasing rolling resistance, reducing premature tire failure, and lowering truck tire wear overall.

Superior Industries announced it has built the first ever 210-foot (64m) road-portable telescoping radial stacking conveyor. This TeleStacker Conveyor was designed for a frac sand operation in Texas. In addition to high capacity frac sand applications, operations that may benefit from a longer unit include sites that need to build inventory with large tonnage stockpiles and shipload applications.

Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News Co. will exhibit its new autonomous haulage solution this week in Cologne, Germany, at the Autonomous Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium. Liebherr plans to begin field trials of a pre-series at a customer site in 2019.

Liebherr’s new autonomous ready haul mining trucks will be compatible with ASI’s autonomous command and control platform; MOBIUS. Liebherr’s vision of an autonomous haul truck includes an open interface that enables the truck to integrate to ASI’s Mobius platform. Liebherr’s autonomous vehicles can be controlled under an OEM agnostic command system for autonomous vehicles.
