Vermeer is expanding its horizontal direction drilling (HDD) fluid management equipment line and launching its first electric-powered reclaimer with the new Vermeer R500 reclaimer. This is the first model released by Vermeer from the acquisition of electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Normag in 2020. The all-electric R500 reclaimer is a key part of the Vermeer strategy to meet growing demand for electric-powered jobsite solutions.

After years of development, the Mining Division of the Liebherr Group is proud to launch the new R 9600 hydraulic excavator. This 600t excavator sets new standards in the open pit mining market. The successor of the popular R 996B enters the market after gaining a year of field experience in Australia, the largest market for 600-tonne class excavators. This new development builds on years of customer-centric research and is based upon the successful R 9800 800-tonne excavator. A total of 8 units will be operating in Australia by end of 2021. The R 9600 will enter serial production at the end of this year.

Vermeer announced it has acquired electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Normag. Through this acquisition, Vermeer assumes the rights to develop, manufacture and distribute the proven fully electric HDD rigs, generator sets and fluid management systems, which are currently operating across Europe under the Normag brand.

As a world leader in the HDD and fluid management industry, this acquisition is a key part of the Vermeer strategy to meet growing demand for electric-powered worksite solutions.

Komatsu America’s new HD785-8 rigid frame off-highway haul truck, with a Tier 4 Komatsu SAA12V140E-7 engine, has the highest in class net horsepower, 1,140 HP (849 kW) in North America. With a payload capacity of 101.6 U.S. (short) / 92.2 metric tons, it’s built for mining, quarry, and aggregates.

Komatsu America has introduced their new PC1250SP-11 and PC1250LC-11 Tier 4 final emissions certified hydraulic excavators. The heavy equipment manufacturer debuted these EPA Tier 4 Final (T4F) certified models - perfect for sewer, water, mass excavation, mining, and quarry applications - with simplicity in mind. Their SAA6D170E-7 engines feature two Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filters (KDPF) that do not require a Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system or Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The new PC1250SP-11 and PC1250LC-11 feature increased power, improved production, and a new single “Power +” operating mode that does not compromise fuel consumption.

The brand new Cat 24 Motor Grader is a testament to the already strong heritage of the company's M Series Motor Graders, offering high performance construction and maintenance capabilities on mine roads in order to make miner’s jobs easier and more efficient. Additionally, with its innovative, modular design, removing and installing components is easier than ever and up to 70 percent faster. This Motor Grader is application matched for medium to large mines that run trucks with loads over 180 tonnes and outfitted with a 7.3-m (24 foot) wide moldboard. The 24 Motor Grader is also equipped with Standard Cat GRADE with Cross Slope in order to improve operator productivity and haul road quality, in turn decreasing rolling resistance, reducing premature tire failure, and lowering truck tire wear overall.

Superior Industries announced it has built the first ever 210-foot (64m) road-portable telescoping radial stacking conveyor. This TeleStacker Conveyor was designed for a frac sand operation in Texas. In addition to high capacity frac sand applications, operations that may benefit from a longer unit include sites that need to build inventory with large tonnage stockpiles and shipload applications.

Liebherr’s new autonomous ready haul mining trucks will be compatible with ASI’s autonomous command and control platform; MOBIUS. Liebherr’s vision of an autonomous haul truck includes an open interface that enables the truck to integrate to ASI’s Mobius platform. Liebherr’s autonomous vehicles can be controlled under an OEM agnostic command system for autonomous vehicles.
